George Clooney’s Fiancée Has Been Appointed To Investigate War Crimes In Gaza

George Clooney is not only an incredibly attractive and talented Hollywood actor, but he also has a beautiful, intelligent fiancée.
Amal Alamuddin, 36, is an Oxford graduate and a British human rights lawyer who’s been appointed by the UN to investigate possible international law violations in Gaza — and to bring those who have committed the war crimes to justice.
In July, the UN’s top human rights official criticized Israel’s military actions and alluded to a string of violations of international law.
Palestinian foreign minister Riad al-Malki also said last week that there’s “clear evidence” that Israel has committed a number of war crimes throughout its offensive on Gaza.
In a UN statement, the commission has been asked to:
[I]dentify those responsible, to make recommendations, in particular on accountability measures, all with a view to avoiding and ending impunity and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable, and on ways and means to protect civilians against any further assaults.
The UN’s Human Rights Council organized the independent commission, which includes Alamuddin and two other prominent lawyers, and requests a written report on the war crimes due March 2015.
